Safety & Security Tour

The list of Jeep® Wrangler’s safety and security features are as far-reaching as its capabilities.

The sport bar uses high-strength steel and is integrated into the B-Pillar that runs into the floor for improved side-impact performance, vehicle stiffness and torsional rigidity. It also helps Wrangler feel more controlled at highway speeds.

Additional features include:

  • Advanced multistage front airbags[2]
  • Side supplemental airbags[2]
  • Body-on-frame construction
  • Energy-absorbing steering wheel and column
  • Energy-absorbing front rail tips can be serviced after low-speed (up to 8 mph) impact events
  • Integrated restraint system includes three-point lap and shoulder belts for all seating positions
  • Pretensioners and load-limiting retractors on the front seat backs and strong sport bar design
  • Off-road tested emergency brake system

    • Airbags
    • Wrangler’s advanced multistage front airbags [1] inflate with a force appropriate to the severity of the impact. Available seat-mounted side airbags [1] deploy from the outboard side of each front cloth seat to provide enhanced head and thorax protection in the event of a side-impact.
    • Crush Zones
    • Crumple zones are designed to compress during an accident to absorb energy from an impact, decreasing transfer of that energy to the occupants. Crash dummies and volunteer engineers both confirm the added safety of the Wrangler 4x4.
  • Five-Star Frontal-Impact Rating

Wrangler has earned the U.S. government's highest rating for frontal-impact crash testing — five stars[3]. You'll also feel reassured knowing both passive and active features, such as advanced front multistage airbags[2], Electronic Stability Program[4] (ESP) and Antilock Brake System (ABS), have been designed to help keep you safer and more secure during your on- and off-road adventures.
